Greg Parma //Smith Sky Tomb at Davis Lewis

art

Greg Parma Smith, Warm Cloud Specimen After Constable (2024). Oil on canvas. 56 x 56 in (142.2 x 142.2 cm).

Greg Parma Smith’s show at David Lewis is composed of paintings of flowers, suns, and clouds. The works are not digitally assisted but look so precise that the only indication that they were done by hand are the brushstrokes. The cloud paintings look like three-dimensional shells, and the suns look like flowers. The actual flowers are anthropomorphic and look like they are dancing. The works are very sculptural and aesthetically pleasing.
